IPhone 6s motherboard

A closer examination of the leaked photos of the iPhone 6s's motherboard by the people who run 9to5Mac and Chipworks shows that it is bigger than iPhone's processor. It will also have fewer chips.

Furthermore, it will come with a brand new NFC chip made by NXP. At present, Apple uses the NXP 65V10 NFC processor within both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus however, for the upcoming iPhones it will use the NXP 66VP2 processor. It's not clear what benefits the new chip offers over its predecessor, however it is expected that it will have an integrated security component that will remove the need for an additional chip.

The leaked photos of the iPhone motherboard also reveal that Apple has drastically reduced the amount of chips that it has on its motherboard while increasing the efficiency of its other.

One part of the board that included more than 10 components has been cut down to just 3 main chips, thereby reducing the number of components and improving the efficiency of those remaining.

Apple will also keep its iPhone 6's Cirrus Logic audio chip, Murata's WiFi module, and power amplifiers made by RFMD along with other manufacturers in the new generation of iPhones.

It is disappointing to learn that the leaked photos that show the iPhone 6s motherboard are with an NAND flash memory 16GB chip made by Toshiba. Apple has been heavily criticised for offering the basic version of the iPhone that comes with only 16GB of storage. Although it's possible that the final retail models for iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s as well as the iPhone 6s Plus will come with 32GB of space It is not likely considering the statements that the Apple's Vice President Phil Schiller on iPhones coming with 16GB of storage capacity.

In addition to the previous photos, 9to5Mac also received purported sketches for the new iPhone from a maker of cases. The sketches indicate how the new iPhone will appear exactly like the predecessor, but it's going to be bigger, taller, and thicker with a difference of 0.13mm, 0.16mm and 0.13mm in each case. The slight differences in the dimensions of the new iPhone will not be noticeable to people with eyesight as well as ensure it's the iPhone 6s will remain compatible with the existing iPhone 6 cases on the market. The variations are so tiny that Apple might not even notice these differences when it launches its iPhone 6s in the year.
